K2 2003 Infrastructure Course (1 Day)
Course Overview
The training course will teach attendees how to Install and Configure the
K2.net 2003 workflow product suite in a multi-server environment. The attendees
will have the opportunity to install and configure the product during hands-on
labs.
Audience
The course is designed for System Administrators who are responsible for
installing and maintaining Enterprise Application Servers.
Prerequisites
Delegates should have server management and administration experience. They
should have a general knowledge of:

Windows Server 2003

Microsoft Active Directory

Windows SharePoint Services and/or Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003

Internet Information Services 5.0 or 6.0 (with ASP.NET)

SQL Server 2000
Module 00: Course Introduction and Objectives
Formalities, including general introductions, course outline, course
objectives, courseware and facilities, will be outlined. At the end of the
module the student will have a good idea of what will be covered in the course.
Module 01: Introduction to K2.net 2003
The module will lay the foundations of electronic workflow concepts and
definitions and provide basic knowledge of K2.net. The core components of
K2.Net will be introduced; showing architecture and the functions of these
components. Students will also be introduced to the various integration options
available to other Microsoft Products and Services such as Active Directory;
Microsoft SQL Server; Share Point Portal Server; BizTalk Server; and Content
Management Server.
Module 02: Installation and Deployment
This module will specifically address the function, service and software
prerequisites for a successful K2 deployment. The module will demonstrate the
various K2.net 2003 installation and deployment options as well as post
installation configuration.
Module 03: Maintenance and Monitoring
The student will learn how to use the K2.net 2003 service manager to manage K2
servers, security, users, groups, process versions, process instances and work
lists. Advanced configuration options will be discussed to provide the
administrator with the ability to add or change licensing; multi processor
support; threading etc.
Module 04: Disaster Recovery
In this module we will be looking at methods of enhancing fault tolerance for
your K2.net Server through clustering, as well as disaster recovery strategies
in the event of data is loss.
